WHO
Hi my name is Shane Keaney, the repetition of “ane” in my first and last name is visually nice right? Anyway I’m originally from a small town in southeastern Connecticut, I grew up sledding not skiing. In High School I discovered that Graphic Design was a thing one could do, and that New York was the place to do it. So here I am a decade + later. I like music, comedy, riding my bike and yes, design. I find design to be challenging, sometimes even masochistic, but overall I love it. I appreciate everything from high design to the vernacular, but I do have my favorites, for a list click here. For 4 & 1/2 years I worked in the busy in-house design department of the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), producing everything from Newspaper ads and brochures, to Annual reports and environmental graphics for the lobby. After some time spent traveling Europe and China, my wife and I lived in and worked in (I worked from, thanks to the internet) China from Last summer till this Spring. I currenlty work as an infographic designer for the fantastic Column FIve.
